🍽️ Crispy Falafel Patties in Pita Bread

Ingredients
- chickpeas 800 g
- parsley, fresh 30 g
- lemons 1 pc.
- garlic cloves 2 pc.
- shallots 1 pc.
- wheat flour, Type 405 6 tbsp
- salt pinch
- pepper, black ground pinch
- crème fraîche 200 g
- curry powder 0.5 tsp
- peppers, red 1 pc.
- peppers, yellow 1 pc.
- vine tomatoes 200 g
- oil 10 tbsp
- flatbread 1 pc.
Instructions
- 1. Place the chickpeas in a sieve and let them drain well.
- 2. Wash the parsley, pat it dry, and remove the thick stems.
- 3. Finely chop the parsley.
- 4. Wash the lemon and grate about one teaspoon of the zest.
- 5. Cut the lemon in half and squeeze out the juice.
- 6. Peel the garlic and chop it roughly.
- 7. Halve the shallots, peel them, and dice them finely.
- 8. Put the chickpeas, parsley, shallots, garlic, lemon zest, two tablespoons of lemon juice, and the flour into a tall container.
- 9. Blend the ingredients thoroughly into a mixture.
- 10. Season the mixture with salt and pepper.
- 11. Chill the chickpea mixture.
- 12. Mix the crème fraîche with curry, a splash of lemon juice, and salt in a bowl.
- 13. Wash the bell pepper.
- 14. Remove the stem and seeds from the bell pepper.
- 15. Cut the bell pepper into strips.
- 16. Wash the tomatoes.
- 17. Remove the stems from the tomatoes.
- 18. Slice the tomatoes.
- 19. Wet your hands with water.
- 20. Shape about twelve flat patties from the chickpea mixture.
- 21. Heat the oil in a frying pan.
- 22. Fry the patties on both sides for about three to four minutes until golden brown and crispy.
- 23. Fill the pita breads with the falafel, the vegetables, and the curry dip.
