  1. 1. Peel the garlic and chop it very finely.
  2. 2. Mix the olive oil with the garlic, cayenne pepper, cumin, paprika powder, and salt in a bowl.
  3. 3. Rinse the schnitzel and pat it dry with a kitchen towel.
  4. 4. Cut the schnitzel into thin strips.
  5. 5. Toss the meat strips in the marinade until they are completely coated.
  6. 6. Set the marinated meat strips aside for later.
  7. 7. Wash the cucumbers and cut off the ends.
  8. 8. Halve the cucumbers lengthwise and slice them into thin rounds.
  9. 9. Wash the tomatoes and cut them into small cubes.
  10. 10. Halve the onion and peel it.
  11. 11. Cut the onion into thin strips.
  12. 12. Quarter the red cabbage and remove the hard core in the center.
  13. 13. Shred the red cabbage into very fine strips.
  14. 14. Wash the lemon and cut it in half.
  15. 15. Squeeze the juice out of the lemon.
  16. 16. Heat oil in a large frying pan over high heat.
  17. 17. Take the meat strips out of the marinade.
  18. 18. Fry the meat strips in the hot pan for about 4 minutes until golden brown.
  19. 19. Deglaze the pan with the remaining marinade.
  20. 20. Swirl the pan briefly to mix the sauce.
  21. 21. Remove the fried meat from the pan and set it aside.
  22. 22. Remove the pan with the sauce from the stove.
  23. 23. Stir the sour cream into the hot sauce.
  24. 24. Thoroughly mix the fond (caramelized residues) into the sauce.
  25. 25. Add one tablespoon of lemon juice to the sauce.
  26. 26. Season the sauce with salt and cayenne pepper to taste.
  27. 27. Lightly moisten the pita breads with water.
  28. 28. Warm the pita breads in a toaster or oven until golden brown.
  29. 29. Cut open the warm pita breads.
  30. 30. Spread the red sauce on the inside of the breads.
  31. 31. Fill the breads with the meat and vegetables as desired.
  32. 32. Serve the döner sandwiches immediately.
