  1. 1. Cut a sheet of baking paper into two equal halves.
  2. 2. Line a small baking dish with one half of the paper.
  3. 3. Place the dates in the dish so they slightly overlap.
  4. 4. Cover the dates with the second half of the baking paper.
  5. 5. Flatten the dates using a glass or a small pot.
  6. 6. Carefully remove the top layer of baking paper.
  7. 7. Spread the peanut butter evenly over the flattened dates.
  8. 8. Roughly chop the peanuts.
  9. 9. Sprinkle two-thirds of the chopped peanuts over the peanut butter.
  10. 10. Set aside the remaining peanuts for later.
  11. 11. Break the chocolate into small pieces.
  12. 12. Place the chocolate pieces in a heatproof bowl.
  13. 13. Melt the chocolate over a bowl of hot water (bain-marie).
  14. 14. Stir the chocolate until it is completely liquid and smooth.
  15. 15. Pour the melted chocolate over the peanut butter layer.
  16. 16. Smooth the chocolate layer with a spoon.
  17. 17. Sprinkle the remaining peanuts and coconut flakes on top.
  18. 18. Place the dish in the freezer for about 30 minutes.
  19. 19. Remove the date mixture from the dish.
  20. 20. Cut the mixture into bars using a sharp knife.
