🍰 Steamed Dumplings with Plum Compote

Ingredients
- Peach plums 400 g
- sugar 3.5 tbsp
- vanilla pod 1 pcs
- cinnamon 0.25 tsp
- milk 125 ml
- butter 1 tbsp
- salt pinch
- steamed dumplings 500 g
- Amarettini 4 tbsp
Instructions
- 1. Wash the plums thoroughly.
- 2. Halve the plums and remove the pits.
- 3. Put 3 tablespoons of sugar into a pot.
- 4. Melt the sugar over medium heat for about 2 minutes.
- 5. Deglaze the browning sugar with 50 milliliters of water.
- 6. Let the sugar-water mixture simmer gently for 1 to 2 minutes.
- 7. Halve the vanilla pod lengthwise.
- 8. Scrape the vanilla seeds out of the pod using the back of a knife.
- 9. Add the plums, cinnamon, and the vanilla pod with the seeds to the pot.
- 10. Let the compote simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes.
- 11. Stir the compote occasionally.
- 12. Set the pot aside to let the flavors develop and cool down.
- 13. Remove the vanilla pod from the compote before serving.
- 14. Put milk, butter, a pinch of salt, and 1 teaspoon of sugar into a non-stick pan.
- 15. Stir constantly until the milk mixture comes to a boil.
- 16. Place the steamed dumplings into the hot milk.
- 17. Cover the pan with a lid.
- 18. Cook the steamed dumplings on low to medium heat for about 10 minutes.
- 19. Crumble the Amarettini cookies into small pieces.
- 20. Plate the finished steamed dumplings with the plum compote.
- 21. Sprinkle the Amarettini crumbs over the dumplings.
- 22. Serve the dish and enjoy!
