Ingredients
- Wheat flour, Type 405 530 g
- Baking powder 2 tsp
- Salt 2 tsp
- Sugar 1 tsp
- butter 50 g
- Water 275 ml
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
- 2. Mix flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar in a large bowl.
- 3. Add small pieces of butter.
- 4. Work water into the mixture gradually.
- 5. Knead the dough until it is smooth and pliable.
- 6. Lightly flour your work surface.
- 7. Shape the dough into a round loaf about 15 centimeters in diameter.
- 8. Place the loaf on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
- 9. Cut a cross pattern into the surface with a sharp knife.
- 10. Cut about 1 to 2 centimeters deep into the dough.
- 11. Bake the bread for 30 to 35 minutes.
- 12. Remove the bread when it is golden brown.
- 13. Tap the bottom of the loaf.
- 14. It is done if it sounds hollow.
- 15. Let the bread cool on a wire rack.
- 16. Serve the bread warm.
