  1. 1. Turn on the oven and set it to 180 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
  2. 2. Place the french fries on a baking sheet.
  3. 3. Bake the fries for about 30 minutes until they are golden brown and crispy.
  4. 4. Cut the onions in half and remove the skin.
  5. 5. Dice the onions into small pieces.
  6. 6. Add 2 tablespoons of oil to a pot and heat it over medium heat.
  7. 7. Add the onions to the hot oil and sweat them for about 2 minutes.
  8. 8. Stir in 2 teaspoons of curry powder, some sugar, and tomato paste into the onions.
  9. 9. Fry the spice mixture for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  10. 10. Add the chopped tomatoes to the pot.
  11. 11. Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste.
  12. 12. Let the sauce simmer covered for about 20 minutes.
  13. 13. Add 2 tablespoons of oil to a frying pan and heat it over medium to high heat.
  14. 14. Fry the sausages in the pan until golden brown.
  15. 15. Remove the sausages from the pan and set them aside.
  16. 16. Slice the sausages into bite-sized pieces.
  17. 17. Blend the curry sauce in the pot until smooth using a hand blender.
  18. 18. Taste the sauce again and adjust with salt, pepper, and sugar.
  19. 19. Place the sliced sausages on the plates.
  20. 20. Pour the warm curry sauce over the sausages.
  21. 21. Sprinkle some curry powder over the currywurst.
  22. 22. Serve the currywurst together with the crispy fries.
