🍽️ Crispy Currywurst with Fries

Ingredients
- frozen french fries 800 g
- yellow onions 1 pc.
- oil 4 tbsp
- curry powder 4 tsp
- sugar 1 tsp
- tomato paste 1 tbsp
- chopped tomatoes 800 g
- salt pinch
- black ground pepper pinch
- grilled sausages 4 pc.
Instructions
- 1. Turn on the oven and set it to 180 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
- 2. Place the french fries on a baking sheet.
- 3. Bake the fries for about 30 minutes until they are golden brown and crispy.
- 4. Cut the onions in half and remove the skin.
- 5. Dice the onions into small pieces.
- 6. Add 2 tablespoons of oil to a pot and heat it over medium heat.
- 7. Add the onions to the hot oil and sweat them for about 2 minutes.
- 8. Stir in 2 teaspoons of curry powder, some sugar, and tomato paste into the onions.
- 9. Fry the spice mixture for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- 10. Add the chopped tomatoes to the pot.
- 11. Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste.
- 12. Let the sauce simmer covered for about 20 minutes.
- 13. Add 2 tablespoons of oil to a frying pan and heat it over medium to high heat.
- 14. Fry the sausages in the pan until golden brown.
- 15. Remove the sausages from the pan and set them aside.
- 16. Slice the sausages into bite-sized pieces.
- 17. Blend the curry sauce in the pot until smooth using a hand blender.
- 18. Taste the sauce again and adjust with salt, pepper, and sugar.
- 19. Place the sliced sausages on the plates.
- 20. Pour the warm curry sauce over the sausages.
- 21. Sprinkle some curry powder over the currywurst.
- 22. Serve the currywurst together with the crispy fries.
