🍽️ Crispy Crostini with Caramelized Red Wine Onions and Blue Cheese

Ingredients
- onions, red 8 pcs.
- butter 2 tbsp
- brown sugar 2 tbsp
- red wine, dry 100 ml
- balsamic vinegar, light 2 tbsp
- salt pinch
- pepper, black ground pinch
- ciabatta bread 1 pc.
- blue cheese 200 g
Instructions
- 1. Cut the onions in half, peel them, and slice them into wedges.
- 2. Heat the butter in a frying pan over medium heat.
- 3. Add the onion wedges to the pan and sauté them for about three minutes until they are soft and translucent.
- 4. Sprinkle the sugar over the onions and let them caramelize slightly.
- 5. Deglaze the onions with the wine and the vinegar.
- 6. Season the mixture with salt and pepper.
- 7. Let the onions simmer for about five minutes until the liquid has evaporated.
- 8. Remove the pan from the heat and let the onions cool down.
- 9. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
- 10. Slice the bread into even slices.
- 11. Cut the blue cheese into slices first, and then into small strips.
- 12. Distribute the cut cheese strips and the cooled red wine onions over the bread slices.
- 13. Place the topped bread slices in the oven and bake them for about three minutes until the cheese is melted.
- 14. Carefully remove the crostini from the oven.
- 15. Serve the crostini immediately while still hot.
