🍽️ Crispy Chili Oil

Ingredients
- shallots 3 pcs.
- garlic cloves 6 pcs.
- ginger, fresh 10 g
- star anise 2 pcs.
- peppercorns 1 tbsp
- chili flakes 60 g
- paprika, sweet 1 tbsp
- brown sugar 1 tbsp
- soy sauce 2 tbsp
- sunflower oil 300 ml
Instructions
- 1. Peel the shallots and the garlic.
- 2. Slice the shallots into thin rings.
- 3. Finely chop the garlic.
- 4. Peel the ginger and grate it finely.
- 5. Crush the star anise and peppercorns in a mortar.
- 6. Add the chili flakes, paprika powder, sugar, grated ginger, and soy sauce to a bowl.
- 7. Mix the spices in the bowl thoroughly.
- 8. Heat the oil in a pot to 170 degrees Celsius.
- 9. Fry the shallots and garlic in the hot oil for about 1 to 2 minutes.
- 10. Be careful as the oil may foam up.
- 11. Pour the hot oil over the spice mixture.
- 12. Stir everything well.
- 13. Let the oil cool down slightly.
- 14. Fill the chili oil into jars while it is still hot.
- 15. Seal the jars tightly.
