🍽️ Creamy Potato-Leek Gratin with Ham and Chives

Ingredients
- potatoes, mainly waxy 1 kg
- salt pinch
- leek 2 pcs.
- onions, yellow 1 pc.
- boiled ham 200 g
- oil 1 tbsp
- sour cream 400 ml
- Gouda, grated 250 g
- nutmeg, ground 2.5 g
- pepper, black ground pinch
- butter 1 tbsp
- chives, fresh 15 g
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius with fan.
- 2. Wash the potatoes thoroughly.
- 3. Cut the potatoes into quarters.
- 4. Place the potatoes in a pot with salted water.
- 5. Cook the potatoes for about 10 to 12 minutes.
- 6. Check if the potatoes are soft.
- 7. Remove the root end from the leek.
- 8. Halve the leek lengthwise.
- 9. Hold the lower ends of the leek stalks.
- 10. Open up the leek.
- 11. Clean the leek carefully.
- 12. Cut the leek into thin, diagonal slices.
- 13. Halve the onion.
- 14. Peel the onion.
- 15. Cut the onion into fine strips.
- 16. Dice the ham roughly.
- 17. Heat some oil in a pan over medium heat.
- 18. Sauté the onions in the oil.
- 19. Add the leek to the onion.
- 20. Cook the vegetables for about 5 minutes.
- 21. Take a bowl.
- 22. Mix sour cream and cheese in the bowl.
- 23. Add nutmeg to the mixture.
- 24. Season the mixture with salt.
- 25. Season the mixture with pepper.
- 26. Grease a baking dish with butter.
- 27. Drain the cooked potatoes.
- 28. Place the potatoes in the baking dish.
- 29. Add the leek to the baking dish.
- 30. Add the ham to the baking dish.
- 31. Season the ingredients in the dish with salt.
- 32. Season the ingredients in the dish with pepper.
- 33. Mix everything in the dish thoroughly.
- 34. Pour the cheese-cream mixture over the potatoes.
- 35. Make sure everything is well covered.
- 36. Place the baking dish on the top rack.
- 37. Bake the gratin for about 10 to 15 minutes.
- 38. Make sure it turns golden brown.
- 39. Wash the chives.
- 40. Shake the chives dry.
- 41. Cut the chives into fine rings.
- 42. Take the gratin out of the oven.
- 43. Sprinkle the gratin with the chive rings.
- 44. Serve the dish.
