  1. 1. Put the soft butter, powdered sugar, and one egg into a bowl.
  2. 2. Whisk the ingredients until fluffy using a hand mixer and whisk.
  3. 3. Add the flour, salt, and baking powder.
  4. 4. Knead everything into a smooth dough.
  5. 5. Place the dough in the refrigerator for about 1 hour.
  6. 6. Put the cranberries into a bowl.
  7. 7. Cover them with orange juice and rum.
  8. 8. Let the cranberries soak for about 1 hour.
  9. 9. Separate the remaining egg.
  10. 10. Save the egg yolk for another use.
  11. 11. Chop the pistachios coarsely.
  12. 12. Place the soaked cranberries along with the liquid into a tall container.
  13. 13. Blend the cranberries until smooth.
  14. 14. Add the chopped pistachios and the egg white.
  15. 15. Mix the mixture well.
  16. 16. Preheat the oven to 175 °C with top and bottom heat.
  17. 17. Sprinkle some flour on a work surface.
  18. 18. Roll out the dough on the floured surface.
  19. 19. Spread the cranberry mixture evenly over the dough.
  20. 20. Leave about 3 cm of dough free on one long side.
  21. 21. Roll the dough tightly from the other side.
  22. 22. Press the dough edge firmly.
  23. 23. Cut the roll into slices about 1 cm thick.
  24. 24. Place the swirls with the cut side up on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
  25. 25. Bake the swirls in the oven for about 20 minutes.
  26. 26. Take them out when they are lightly golden brown.
  27. 27. Let the swirls cool on a cake rack.
