🍽️ Cig Köfte with Bulgur

Ingredients
- yellow onions 0.5 pc.
- garlic cloves 1 pc.
- red bell pepper 0.5 pc.
- Mini Romaine lettuce 1 pc.
- salt pinch
- passata tomatoes 300 g
- bulgur 300 g
- olive oil 2 tbsp
- tomato paste 4 tbsp
- sugar pinch
- sweet paprika powder 1 tsp
Instructions
- 1. Cut the onion and garlic in half and peel off the skin.
- 2. Dice the onion and garlic very finely.
- 3. Wash the bell pepper, cut it in half lengthwise, and remove the seeds.
- 4. Dice the bell pepper into small pieces as well.
- 5. Separate the lettuce leaves from each other.
- 6. Wash the lettuce leaves and shake them dry.
- 7. Bring approximately 300 milliliters of salted water to a boil in a pot.
- 8. Add the pureed tomatoes to the boiling water.
- 9. Pour the hot tomato liquid over the bulgur in a bowl.
- 10. Let the bulgur soak for about 10 minutes.
- 11. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- 12. Sauté the diced onion, garlic, bell pepper, and tomato paste for about 3 minutes.
- 13. Season the mixture with salt, sugar, and paprika powder.
- 14. Transfer the fried mixture into a tall container.
- 15. Blend the mixture into a smooth paste.
- 16. Pour the paste over the soaked bulgur.
- 17. Stir the paste and bulgur vigorously with a wooden spoon for 5 to 10 minutes.
- 18. Wet your hands with a little water.
- 19. Shape the mixture into elongated meatballs.
- 20. Add a little water if necessary, if the mixture is too dry to shape well.
- 21. Take about 1 tablespoon of the mixture into your hand.
- 22. Press the mixture slightly together to create the typical shape.
- 23. Place the finished Cig Köfte on the lettuce leaves.
- 24. Drizzle the Köfte with a little olive oil if desired.
- 25. Serve the dish and enjoy your meal.
