  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 250 degrees Celsius using top heat or the grill function.
  2. 2. Thoroughly wash the peppers.
  3. 3. Cut the peppers into quarters and remove the stem and seeds.
  4. 4. Halve the onions and peel them.
  5. 5. Cut the peeled onions into thin strips.
  6. 6. Wash the rocket (arugula) and let it drain well.
  7. 7. Slice the mozzarella into pieces about half a centimeter thick.
  8. 8. Heat one tablespoon of olive oil in a frying pan over low heat.
  9. 9. Lightly fry the Aglio Olio mixture while stirring for one to two minutes.
  10. 10. Transfer the fried mixture into a large bowl.
  11. 11. Add the minced meat, one tablespoon of ketchup, and one tablespoon of balsamic vinegar to the bowl.
  12. 12. Season the mixture with salt and pepper.
  13. 13. Mix all ingredients thoroughly.
  14. 14. Set the minced meat mixture aside to rest.
  15. 15. Place the pepper pieces in a small baking dish with the skin side facing up.
  16. 16. Roast the peppers in the preheated oven on the top rack for twelve to fifteen minutes until dark.
  17. 17. Add the ciabatta bread to the oven when there are five minutes of baking time left.
  18. 18. Bake the ciabatta until golden brown.
  19. 19. Heat one tablespoon of olive oil in a pot over medium heat.
  20. 20. Fry the onion strips in it for about three minutes until translucent.
  21. 21. Add one tablespoon of sugar and two tablespoons of balsamic vinegar.
  22. 22. Let the onions simmer covered over low heat for about ten minutes until soft.
  23. 23. Stir the onions occasionally while they are simmering.
  24. 24. Shape the minced meat mixture into twelve equal-sized, flat patties about one centimeter thick.
  25. 25. Heat one tablespoon of olive oil in the frying pan over medium heat.
  26. 26. Fry the patties on both sides for about two minutes each.
  27. 27. Take the ciabatta out of the oven.
  28. 28. Split the bread in the middle.
  29. 29. Slice the halves lengthwise.
  30. 30. Brush the ciabatta halves with the pan juices as desired.
  31. 31. Brush the ciabatta halves additionally with one tablespoon of olive oil.
  32. 32. Top the ciabatta with the braised onions.
  33. 33. Place the roasted peppers on top.
  34. 34. Add the fried meat patties.
  35. 35. Place the mozzarella slices on top.
  36. 36. Add the rocket (arugula) as the final topping.
  37. 37. Serve the burgers immediately.
