  1. 1. Thoroughly wash the peppers under running water.
  2. 2. Halve the peppers and remove the seeds.
  3. 3. Dice the pepper flesh into very fine cubes.
  4. 4. Cut the cheddar cheese into small cubes or grate it finely.
  5. 5. Place the diced peppers and cheese into a bowl.
  6. 6. Add two tablespoons of water.
  7. 7. Knead the mixture with your hands until a uniform, homogeneous dough forms.
  8. 8. Shape the dough into small balls the size of walnuts.
  9. 9. Spread the breadcrumbs on a plate.
  10. 10. Whisk the egg with one tablespoon of water in a second plate.
  11. 11. Mix flour, salt, pepper, and paprika powder in a third plate.
  12. 12. Roll the cheese balls first in the seasoned flour mixture.
  13. 13. Then dip the balls into the egg mixture.
  14. 14. Finally, roll the balls in the breadcrumbs.
  15. 15. Press the coating slightly to ensure it sticks.
  16. 16. Dip the balls again briefly into the egg mixture.
  17. 17. Roll them one last time in the breadcrumbs.
  18. 18. Place the finished balls in the freezer until you are ready to fry them.
  19. 19. Heat the oil in a pot over high heat.
  20. 20. Fry the chili cheese balls in the hot oil for about two minutes until golden brown.
  21. 21. Remove the nuggets from the oil using a slotted spoon.
  22. 22. Let them drain on kitchen paper.
