🍽️ Chili Burger with Caramelized Onions and Crispy Bacon

Ingredients
- onions, yellow 5 pcs.
- olive oil 3 tbsp.
- butter 1 tbsp.
- honey 2 tbsp.
- salt pinch
- balsamic vinegar, light 3 tbsp.
- pickles 2 pcs.
- mixed leaf salad 100 g
- garlic cloves 1 pc.
- pork mince 600 g
- chili, ground pinch
- bacon 200 g
- hamburger buns 4 pcs.
Instructions
- 1. Peel the onions and slice them into thick rings.
- 2. Heat one tablespoon of oil and one tablespoon of butter in a pan over medium heat.
- 3. Fry the onion rings in the pan for about five minutes.
- 4. Add one tablespoon of honey and a pinch of salt.
- 5. Caramelize the onions while turning them for about one minute.
- 6. Deglaze the pan with vinegar.
- 7. Continue to fry the onions for another five minutes until the liquid has almost completely evaporated.
- 8. Stir regularly during this process.
- 9. Finally, season the onion jam with salt to taste.
- 10. Remove the jam from the pan and set it aside.
- 11. Drain the pickles.
- 12. Cut the pickles lengthwise into thin strips.
- 13. Wash the lettuce thoroughly.
- 14. Spin the lettuce dry.
- 15. Peel the garlic.
- 16. Finely chop the garlic.
- 17. Place the ground meat in a large bowl.
- 18. Add the chopped garlic and chili.
- 19. Mix the ingredients well together.
- 20. Season the meat mixture with salt.
- 21. Form four flat burger patties from the mixture.
- 22. Heat a pan over medium to high heat.
- 23. Fry the bacon until crispy without adding extra fat.
- 24. This takes about two to three minutes.
- 25. Remove the bacon from the pan.
- 26. Let the bacon drain on paper towels.
- 27. Add one tablespoon of oil to the same pan.
- 28. Fry the patties for about five minutes until crispy on the first side.
- 29. Fry the patties for another five minutes on the second side.
- 30. Preheat the toaster or the oven.
- 31. Toast the burger buns in it.
- 32. Halve the warmed buns.
- 33. Place some lettuce on the bottom bun halves.
- 34. Add a few pickle strips on top.
- 35. Spread the onion jam evenly.
- 36. Place one cooked patty on each bun.
- 37. Add two slices of crispy bacon on top.
- 38. Close the burger buns.
- 39. Serve the burgers immediately.
