🍽️ Chicken Strips with Chili, Basil and Soy Sauce on Basmati Rice with Beans

Ingredients
- Garlic cloves 1 pc.
- Oil 3 tbsp.
- Chili, ground 0.5 tsp.
- Onions, red 1 pc.
- Chicken breast fillets 600 g
- Salt 1 tbsp.
- Organic Limes 1 pc.
- Basil, fresh 10 g
- Green beans 600 g
- Basmati rice 300 g
- Soy sauce 2 tbsp.
- Sugar pinch
Instructions
- 1. Peel the garlic and chop it finely.
- 2. Mix the chopped garlic in a bowl with 2 tablespoons of oil and chili powder.
- 3. Halve the onion, peel it and cut it into thin strips.
- 4. Wash the chicken breast fillets and pat them dry.
- 5. Cut the chicken meat into strips and season with salt.
- 6. Wash the lime, halve it and squeeze out the juice.
- 7. Wash the basil and dry it.
- 8. Pluck the basil leaves from the stems.
- 9. Bring a pot with about 3 liters of salted water to a boil.
- 10. Wash the beans and remove the ends.
- 11. Cut the beans into pieces about 3 centimeters long.
- 12. Cook the beans in the boiling salted water for approx. 8 to 10 minutes.
- 13. Drain the beans and rinse them with cold water.
- 14. Let the beans drain well.
- 15. Clean the pot.
- 16. Bring the rice in the pot to a boil with 700 milliliters of salted water.
- 17. Cook the rice covered for approx. 12 minutes.
- 18. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a frying pan at high temperature.
- 19. Fry the meat in the pan for about 2 minutes until seared.
- 20. Remove the meat from the pan and place it on a plate.
- 21. Set the meat aside.
- 22. Do not clean the pan.
- 23. Reduce the heat.
- 24. Add the chili-garlic mixture to the pan with the pan drippings.
- 25. Roast the mixture for approx. 2 minutes at low to medium heat.
- 26. Add the onion and the drained beans.
- 27. Fry everything for another approx. 4 minutes at medium heat.
- 28. Add the chicken strips to the vegetables in the pan.
- 29. Season the dish with soy sauce, sugar and 1 to 2 teaspoons of lime juice.
- 30. Add 2 to 3 tablespoons of water.
- 31. Let everything simmer while stirring for approx. 2 minutes.
- 32. Remove the pan from the stove.
- 33. Stir in the basil.
- 34. Fluff the rice with a fork.
- 35. Season the rice with a little lime juice.
- 36. Plate the rice together with the chicken.
- 37. Serve the dish.
