  1. 1. Peel the garlic and chop it finely.
  2. 2. Mix the chopped garlic in a bowl with 2 tablespoons of oil and chili powder.
  3. 3. Halve the onion, peel it and cut it into thin strips.
  4. 4. Wash the chicken breast fillets and pat them dry.
  5. 5. Cut the chicken meat into strips and season with salt.
  6. 6. Wash the lime, halve it and squeeze out the juice.
  7. 7. Wash the basil and dry it.
  8. 8. Pluck the basil leaves from the stems.
  9. 9. Bring a pot with about 3 liters of salted water to a boil.
  10. 10. Wash the beans and remove the ends.
  11. 11. Cut the beans into pieces about 3 centimeters long.
  12. 12. Cook the beans in the boiling salted water for approx. 8 to 10 minutes.
  13. 13. Drain the beans and rinse them with cold water.
  14. 14. Let the beans drain well.
  15. 15. Clean the pot.
  16. 16. Bring the rice in the pot to a boil with 700 milliliters of salted water.
  17. 17. Cook the rice covered for approx. 12 minutes.
  18. 18. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a frying pan at high temperature.
  19. 19. Fry the meat in the pan for about 2 minutes until seared.
  20. 20. Remove the meat from the pan and place it on a plate.
  21. 21. Set the meat aside.
  22. 22. Do not clean the pan.
  23. 23. Reduce the heat.
  24. 24. Add the chili-garlic mixture to the pan with the pan drippings.
  25. 25. Roast the mixture for approx. 2 minutes at low to medium heat.
  26. 26. Add the onion and the drained beans.
  27. 27. Fry everything for another approx. 4 minutes at medium heat.
  28. 28. Add the chicken strips to the vegetables in the pan.
  29. 29. Season the dish with soy sauce, sugar and 1 to 2 teaspoons of lime juice.
  30. 30. Add 2 to 3 tablespoons of water.
  31. 31. Let everything simmer while stirring for approx. 2 minutes.
  32. 32. Remove the pan from the stove.
  33. 33. Stir in the basil.
  34. 34. Fluff the rice with a fork.
  35. 35. Season the rice with a little lime juice.
  36. 36. Plate the rice together with the chicken.
  37. 37. Serve the dish.
