🍰 Cheeseburger Cake

Ingredients
- yeast, fresh 0.5 pcs
- sugar 1 tsp
- water 125 g
- wheat flour, Type 405 300 g
- salt 2 tsp
- eggs 2 pcs
- olive oil 6 tbsp
- ground beef 500 g
- onions, yellow 1 pcs
- garlic cloves 1 pcs
- pepper, black ground 0.25 tsp
- paprika, sweet 1 tsp
- pickles 100 g
- ketchup 100 g
- mustard 2 tbsp
- cheddar sliced cheese 100 g
Instructions
- 1. Mix yeast, sugar, and water in a bowl.
- 2. Add flour, 1 tsp salt, 1 egg, and 4 tbsp olive oil to the yeast-sugar mixture.
- 3. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.
- 4. Shape the dough into a ball.
- 5. Lightly brush the ball with a little olive oil.
- 6. Let the dough rise covered for about 1 hour until it has doubled in size.
- 7. Tip: For faster rising, place the dough in the oven on proofing setting (34 °C top/bottom heat with steam).
- 8. This shortens the rising time by approx. 30 minutes and prevents the dough from drying out.
- 9. Heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a large pan.
- 10. Fry the minced meat until crumbly.
- 11. Peel the onion and the garlic clove.
- 12. Dice the onion and garlic finely.
- 13. Fry the diced pieces with the meat for 3-4 minutes.
- 14. Season the mixture with 1 tsp salt, pepper, and paprika.
- 15. Turn off the stove.
- 16. Finely chop the pickles.
- 17. Stir the pickles, ketchup, and mustard into the meat mixture.
- 18. Let the filling cool down completely.
- 19. Dust a work surface with flour.
- 20. Roll out the yeast dough on a floured work surface to about 35 cm in diameter.
- 21. Place the cooled filling in the center of the dough.
- 22. Grate the cheese over the filling.
- 23. Fold the dough from the outside inwards over the filling.
- 24. Seal the dough well so that nothing can escape.
- 25. Grease a baking pan with a little olive oil.
- 26. Place the burger cake in the pan with the smooth side facing up.
- 27. Whisk one egg.
- 28. Brush the surface of the cake with the whisked egg.
- 29. Sprinkle sesame seeds over the top.
- 30. Place the cake in the cold oven.
- 31. Set the oven to 170 °C top/bottom heat.
- 32. Bake the burger cake for about 35 minutes.
- 33. Use the oven's heating-up time for the dough to rise.
