  2. 2. Scoop out the seeds with a spoon.
  3. 3. Remove the rind from the melon.
  4. 4. Cut the flesh into small cubes.
  5. 5. Cut the lemon in half.
  6. 6. Squeeze the juice from the lemon.
  7. 7. Place the melon cubes into a tall blender jar.
  8. 8. Add two tablespoons of lemon juice.
  9. 9. Add one tablespoon of port wine.
  10. 10. Add four tablespoons of powdered sugar.
  11. 11. Blend the mixture until very smooth.
  12. 12. Pour the puree into a baking dish or onto a baking sheet.
  13. 13. Spread the puree so that it is about one centimeter high.
  14. 14. Place the dish in the freezer for about five hours.
  15. 15. Scrape the frozen melon with a fork.
  16. 16. Fill the granita into chilled glasses.
  17. 17. Serve the dessert immediately.
