🍰 Classic Butter Cookies with Cutters

Ingredients
- Sugar 100 g
- butter 200 g
- Wheat flour, Type 405 300 g
- Salt pinch
- Vanilla extract 1 tsp
- Powdered sugar 3 tbsp
- Lemon juice 1 tbsp
Instructions
- 1. Put sugar, cold butter, flour, a pinch of salt, and vanilla extract into a bowl.
- 2. Knead the ingredients briefly by hand or with a food processor to form a firm shortcrust dough.
- 3. Shape the dough into a ball or press it flat onto a plate.
- 4. Cover the dough and place it in the refrigerator for at least 1 to 2 hours or overnight.
- 5. Take the dough out of the refrigerator and knead it briefly.
- 6. Lightly flour a silicone mat.
- 7. Roll out the dough on the mat to a thickness of 5 millimeters.
- 8. Cut out cookies from the dough using various cookie cutters.
- 9. Carefully loosen the rolled-out dough from the mat with a spatula before cutting out the shapes.
- 10. Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
- 11. Place the tray in the refrigerator for 30 minutes or in the freezer for 15 minutes.
- 12. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius with hot air.
- 13. Ensure you roll the cookies evenly and place similarly sized pieces on one tray.
- 14. Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for about 10 to 15 minutes.
- 15. Take the cookies out of the oven while they are still light in color.
- 16. Let the cookies cool down completely.
- 17. Mix powdered sugar with lemon juice to make a glaze.
- 18. Brush the cooled cookies with the sugar glaze.
- 19. Decorate the cookies as you like.
- 20. Store the cookies in an airtight container; they will keep for several weeks.
