  1. 1. Put soft butter, sugar, a pinch of salt, flour, baking powder, and an egg into a mixing bowl.
  2. 2. Mix the ingredients for 40 seconds on speed 5 until you have a smooth dough.
  3. 3. Wrap the dough tightly in cling film.
  4. 4. Place the foil in the refrigerator for at least one and a half hours.
  5. 5. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
  6. 6. Dust a work surface with flour.
  7. 7. Take the dough out of the fridge and roll it out to about four millimeters thick.
  8. 8. Cut out snowflake shapes with a diameter of four to five centimeters.
  9. 9. Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
  10. 10. Bake the cookies for about twelve minutes until the edges are lightly browned.
  11. 11. Let the cookies cool completely on a wire rack.
  12. 12. Squeeze the juice from a halved lemon.
  13. 13. Whisk powdered sugar with two tablespoons of lemon juice to make a thick glaze.
  14. 14. Fill the glaze into a freezer bag and seal it.
  15. 15. Cut off a small corner of the bag tip.
  16. 16. Decorate the cooled cookies decoratively with the glaze.
  17. 17. Sprinkle the cookies with sugar pearls if desired.
  18. 18. Let the decorated cookies dry well.
