🍽️ Cevapcici Burger with Roasted Peppers and Feta

Ingredients
- peppers, red 1 pc.
- peppers, yellow 1 pc.
- onions, red 1 pc.
- romaine lettuce 1 head
- feta 100 g
- ajvar 4 tbsp
- mayonnaise 4 tbsp
- oil 4 tbsp
- salt pinch
- pepper, black ground pinch
- cevapcici 12 pc.
- hamburger buns 4 pc.
Instructions
- 1. Wash the peppers thoroughly.
- 2. Halve the peppers and remove the stem and seeds.
- 3. Cut the peppers into thin strips.
- 4. Peel the onion.
- 5. Slice the onion into rings.
- 6. Wash the lettuce thoroughly.
- 7. Remove the hard core from the lettuce.
- 8. Separate the lettuce leaves individually.
- 9. Drain the feta cheese in a sieve.
- 10. Cut the feta into four equal slices.
- 11. Take a small bowl.
- 12. Add ajvar (roasted pepper paste) and mayonnaise to the bowl.
- 13. Stir the mixture smoothly with a spoon.
- 14. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan over medium to high heat.
- 15. Fry the pepper strips for about 3 to 4 minutes.
- 16. Season the peppers with salt and pepper.
- 17. Remove the peppers from the pan.
- 18. Place the peppers into a separate bowl.
- 19. Add another 2 tablespoons of oil to the same pan.
- 20. Heat the oil again over medium to high heat.
- 21. Place the cevapcici (small grilled sausages) into the pan.
- 22. Fry the cevapcici for about 6 to 8 minutes.
- 23. Slice the burger buns in half horizontally.
- 24. Toast the bun halves briefly in a toaster if desired.
- 25. Spread the ajvar-mayonnaise mixture on the bottom halves of the buns.
- 26. Place the lettuce leaves on the buns.
- 27. Place the fried cevapcici on the lettuce.
- 28. Place the feta slices on the cevapcici.
- 29. Distribute the stewed pepper strips and onion rings on top.
- 30. Cover the burger with the top bun halves.
