  1. 1. Warm the milk in a pot over low heat until it is lukewarm.
  2. 2. Dissolve 10 grams of sugar and the crumbled yeast in the lukewarm milk.
  3. 3. Let the yeast milk mixture rest for about 10 minutes.
  4. 4. Melt 10 grams of butter in a pan and then let it cool down.
  5. 5. Combine the yeast milk, flour, 15 grams of sugar, the egg, salt, and the cooled butter to form a smooth dough.
  6. 6. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
  7. 7. Wash the plums thoroughly, quarter them, and remove the stones.
  8. 8. Bring 50 milliliters of water and 15 grams of honey to a boil in a pot over medium heat.
  9. 9. Add the plum quarters to the pot and cook them for about 8 minutes until soft.
  10. 10. Let the plum compote cool down completely.
  11. 11. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
  12. 12. Knead the yeast dough again on a lightly floured work surface.
  13. 13. Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and shape them into balls.
  14. 14. Flatten the dough balls slightly.
  15. 15. Place one heaped teaspoon of plum jam in the center of each dough piece.
  16. 16. Close the dough around the filling to form a ball again.
  17. 17. Grease a baking dish with the remaining butter.
  18. 18. Place the buns closely together in the prepared dish.
  19. 19. Let the buns rise covered for another 15 minutes.
  20. 20. Mix the cream with 2 teaspoons of sugar in a bowl.
  21. 21. Brush half of the buns with the cream-sugar mixture.
  22. 22. Bake the buns in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes.
  23. 23. Brush the buns with the remaining cream mixture halfway through the baking time.
  24. 24. Mix the remaining sugar with cinnamon.
  25. 25. Serve the buns warm or cold together with the plum compote.
