🍽️ Crispy Bread Salad with Mackerel

Ingredients
- whole wheat toast 8 slices
- mackerel, smoked 400 g
- onions, red 1 pc.
- vine tomatoes 400 g
- salad cucumbers 1 pc.
- basil, fresh 30 g
- balsamic vinegar, light 2 tbsp
- honey 2 tsp
- salt pinch
- pepper, mixed pinch
- olive oil 4 tbsp
Instructions
- 1. Turn on the toaster.
- 2. Toast the bread until golden brown.
- 3. Let the toast cool down completely.
- 4. Cut the cooled toast into small cubes.
- 5. Cut the mackerel into cubes as well.
- 6. Peel the onion.
- 7. Slice the onion into thin rings.
- 8. Wash the vine tomatoes thoroughly under running water.
- 9. Cut the tomatoes into thin wedges.
- 10. Peel the cucumber.
- 11. Cut the peeled cucumber into cubes.
- 12. Wash the basil leaves.
- 13. Shake the basil dry.
- 14. Pluck the leaves off the stems.
- 15. Finely chop the basil leaves.
- 16. Pour balsamic vinegar into a large bowl.
- 17. Add the honey to the bowl.
- 18. Season the mixture with salt.
- 19. Season the mixture with pepper.
- 20. Whisk the vinegar, honey, salt, and pepper together well.
- 21. Stir the olive oil vigorously into the dressing mixture.
- 22. Add the toast cubes to the bowl.
- 23. Add the mackerel cubes to the bowl.
- 24. Add the onion rings to the bowl.
- 25. Add the tomato wedges to the bowl.
- 26. Add the cucumber cubes to the bowl.
- 27. Add the chopped basil to the bowl.
- 28. Gently mix all ingredients with the dressing.
- 29. Serve the salad immediately.
