🍽️ Brotchips alla Caprese with Mozzarella, Tomatoes and Basil

Ingredients
- Toast bread 8 slices
- Olive oil 2 tbsp
- Cherry tomatoes 125 g
- mozzarella 125 g
- Salt pinch
- Pepper, black ground pinch
- Sugar pinch
- Oregano, dried 1 tsp
- Basil, fresh 10 g
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 220 °C (top/bottom heat). Press the toast bread slices slightly flat with a heavy pot. Cut out round shapes or cut the slices into pieces about 3 cm in size. Arrange the bread evenly on a baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil.
- 2. Wash the tomatoes thoroughly and halve them. Drain the mozzarella and cut into cubes about 1 cm in size. First place the tomatoes and then the mozzarella cubes on the bread slices (best secured with a toothpick).
- 3. Season with salt, pepper, sugar and oregano and bake in the oven for about 5 minutes until the mozzarella starts to melt. Meanwhile, wash the basil, dry it, pluck the leaves from the stems and chop finely.
- 4. Take the finished Caprese bread chips out of the oven, remove the toothpicks if necessary and garnish with the chopped basil. Enjoy your meal!
