🍳 Liptauer Spread on Fresh Bread

Ingredients
- Quark 40% fat in total 200 g
- Butter 60 g
- Onions, yellow 1 pc.
- Salt pinch
- Pepper, black ground pinch
- Paprika, sweet mild pinch
- Chives, fresh 0.25 bunch
- Gherkins 4 pcs.
- Rye wholemeal bread, sliced 4 slices
Instructions
- 1. Press the quark through a fine sieve to make it smooth.
- 2. Beat the soft butter in a bowl with a hand mixer and whisk until creamy and light.
- 3. Stir the sieved quark into the whipped butter.
- 4. Halve an onion, peel it, and dice it finely.
- 5. Gently fold the diced onion into the quark-butter mixture.
- 6. Season the mixture generously with salt, pepper, and paprika powder.
- 7. Wash the chives thoroughly and pat them dry.
- 8. Cut the chives into fine rings.
- 9. Cut the gherkins into wedges.
- 10. Spread the finished Liptauer onto the bread slices.
- 11. Sprinkle some paprika powder over the spread.
- 12. Garnish the bread with the cut chive rings.
- 13. Serve the bread together with the quartered gherkins.
