  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius fan-forced.
  2. 2. Bring five liters of salted water to a boil in a large pot.
  3. 3. Wash the broccoli thoroughly and let it drain well.
  4. 4. Divide the broccoli into small florets about two centimeters in size.
  5. 5. Halve the onion and peel it.
  6. 6. Dice the onion into fine cubes.
  7. 7. Cut the cooked ham into small cubes as well.
  8. 8. Melt the butter in a pot over medium heat.
  9. 9. Sauté the onion cubes for about one minute.
  10. 10. Dust the onions with flour and stir everything well.
  11. 11. Let the flour mixture sweat for about one minute.
  12. 12. Deglaze the mixture with milk while stirring constantly.
  13. 13. Season the sauce with salt, pepper, and grated nutmeg.
  14. 14. Boil the broccoli in the bubbling salted water for two minutes.
  15. 15. Add the gnocchi to the water and cook everything for another four minutes.
  16. 16. Pour the gnocchi and broccoli into a colander.
  17. 17. Let the pasta-broccoli mixture drain for a short moment.
  18. 18. Place the drained gnocchi and broccoli into a baking dish.
  19. 19. Mix the ingredients in the dish with the béchamel sauce.
  20. 20. Fold in the ham cubes into the mixture.
  21. 21. Generously sprinkle the bake with cheese.
  22. 22. Bake the bake in the oven for about twenty minutes.
  23. 23. Take the bake out of the oven when it is golden brown.
  24. 24. Wash the basil and pat it dry.
  25. 25. Pluck the basil leaves from the stems.
  26. 26. Divide the hot bake onto plates.
  27. 27. Garnish each plate with the fresh basil leaves.
