  1. 1. Put milk, cream, vanilla sugar, sugar, and eggs into a large bowl.
  2. 2. Whisk the ingredients with a whisk until they are well combined.
  3. 3. Cut the brioche into cubes of approx. 2–3 cm.
  4. 4. Grease a baking dish with 1 tbsp of butter.
  5. 5. Place the brioche cubes in the dish and pour the milk-cream mixture over them.
  6. 6. Let the casserole soak in the fridge for approx. 20 minutes.
  7. 7. Preheat the oven to 175 °C (conventional/fan).
  8. 8. Melt the remaining butter in a small saucepan.
  9. 9. Stir the brown sugar and cinnamon into the melted butter.
  10. 10. Pour the cinnamon-butter mixture evenly over the brioche casserole.
  11. 11. Bake the casserole for approx. 25 minutes in the oven until golden brown.
  12. 12. Remove the casserole from the oven and let it cool down briefly.
  13. 13. Serve the warm casserole with fresh fruit or vanilla sauce as desired.
