  8. 8. Melt the sugar over medium heat.
  9. 9. Carefully deglaze the melted sugar with apple juice.
  10. 10. Add the vanilla pulp and the spice bag to the liquid.
  11. 11. Let the mixture simmer for about 15 minutes over medium heat.

  14. 14. Mix the vodka and Amaretto with the lukewarm syrup.
