  1. 1. Fill a pot with water and add some salt. Place the pot on the stove and bring the water to a boil. Cover the pot.
  2. 2. Thoroughly wash the beans. Trim off the thin ends of the beans.
  3. 3. Add the prepared beans to the boiling water. Let them cook for about 10 minutes.
  4. 4. While the beans are cooking, peel the pears. Cut the pears in half and remove the core.
  5. 5. Cut the pears into wedges.
  6. 6. Slice the bacon.
  7. 7. Heat a frying pan over medium heat.
  8. 8. Add the bacon to the hot pan and fry it until the fat renders.
  9. 9. Remove the fried bacon from the pan and set it aside.
  10. 10. Add 1 tablespoon of butter to the same pan.
  11. 11. Place the pear wedges into the pan.
  12. 12. Fry the pears for about 3 minutes on each side.
  13. 13. Return the prepared bacon to the pan with the pears.
  14. 14. Season the mixture with marjoram and pepper.
  15. 15. Drain the cooked beans and let them drain well.
  16. 16. Plate the beans on a dish.
  17. 17. Add the fried pears and bacon to the beans on the plate.
