Ingredients
- Beef rump steaks 600 g
- Thyme, fresh 5 g
- Garlic cloves 1 pc.
- Butter 6 tbsp
- Pepper, black ground 1 tsp
- Pepper, mixed 1 tbsp
- Paprika, sweet 5 tsp
- Salt pinch
Instructions
- 1. Take the rump steaks out of the fridge so they can reach room temperature. Wash the thyme thoroughly, shake off excess water, strip the leaves from the stems and chop finely. Peel the garlic and chop it small as well.
- 2. In a bowl, mix the soft butter with both types of pepper, paprika powder, thyme, garlic and 0.5 tsp salt until well combined. Rinse the rump steaks and pat them dry with a kitchen towel. Rub both sides with the butter mixture, press lightly and let it rest for about 5–10 minutes.
- 3. Grill on the grill grate over the hot coals for 3–5 minutes per side, depending on thickness and desired doneness, until the spice crust turns deep dark. Season the blackened steaks with salt before serving. Enjoy your meal!
