Ingredients
- Eggs 6 pcs.
- Sugar 400 g
- Vanilla Sugar 2 tsp.
- Cinnamon 0.5 tsp.
- Salt pinch
- white Rum 40 ml
- beet syrup 3 tbsp.
- wheat flour, Type 405 230 g
- cocoa powder 50 g
- Baking powder 2 tsp.
- Almonds, whole 200 g
- Butter 1 tbsp.
- Lemons 1 pcs.
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 175 °C (fan). In a bowl, beat 4 eggs, 300 g sugar, and vanilla sugar with a hand mixer and whisk until frothy. Add cinnamon, salt, rum, and beet syrup. Mix flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder and fold it in, then stir in the almonds.
- 2. Grease a baking sheet and sprinkle flour over it. Spread the dough evenly on it. Bake it in the oven for about 15 minutes.
- 3. Cut the lemon in half and squeeze out the juice. Separate the remaining 2 eggs and beat the egg whites with 100 g sugar in the cleaned bowl until frothy. Dilute it to taste with lemon juice.
- 4. Let the Berlin Bread cool slightly, turn it out onto a board, and brush it while still warm with the icing. After cooling, cut into diamonds and serve. Enjoy your meal!
