🍽️ Grilled Tofu Steaks with BBQ Dip and Vegetables

Ingredients
- garlic cloves 3 pcs.
- sunflower oil 5 tbsp.
- soy sauce 8 tbsp.
- maple syrup 3 tbsp.
- tomato paste 1 tbsp.
- paprika, sweet 1 tbsp.
- chili flakes 1 tbsp.
- salt pinch
- tofu, plain 800 g
- green asparagus 1 kg
- bell pepper 500 g
- cherry tomatoes 300 g
- olive oil 5 tbsp.
- Italian herbs, dried 3 tsp.
- organic limes 1 pcs.
Instructions
- 1. Peel the garlic clove and chop it very finely.
- 2. Mix the chopped garlic in a wide bowl with 4 tablespoons of sunflower oil, soy sauce, maple syrup, tomato paste, paprika powder, chili flakes, and salt.
- 3. Pierce the tofu block with a skewer densely from top to bottom so it does not break when turning.
- 4. Place the tofu in the marinade and let it marinate for about 1 hour.
- 5. Turn the tofu once in the marinade after about 30 minutes.
- 6. Preheat your grill.
- 7. Wash the vegetables and let them drain well.
- 8. Peel the lower third of the green asparagus and cut off the woody ends.
- 9. Quarter the bell peppers lengthwise, remove the stem and the seeds.
- 10. Mix olive oil with your favorite herbs.
- 11. Toss the asparagus, peppers, and vine tomatoes in the oil-herb mixture.
- 12. Place the vegetables in a baking dish or a closed grill pan.
- 13. Cook the vegetables over medium heat for 15 to 20 minutes.
- 14. Let the tofu and tomatoes drain.
- 15. Lightly oil the grill grate.
- 16. Place the tofu and tomatoes on the edge of the grill grate.
- 17. Grill the tofu for about 8 minutes on each side.
- 18. Brush the tofu with the remaining marinade.
- 19. Serve the tofu with the grilled vegetables.
- 20. Finally, sprinkle everything with salt.
- 21. Wash the lime hot and dry it off.
- 22. Finely grate the lime zest.
- 23. Halve the lime and squeeze out 1 to 2 tablespoons of juice.
- 24. Sprinkle the tofu steaks with the lime zest.
- 25. Drizzle the grilled vegetables with the lime juice.
