🍽️ Crispy Baguette with Spicy Ground Meat Filling

Ingredients
- Vine tomatoes 2 pcs.
- Sunflower oil 2 tbsp.
- Pork mince 500 g
- Tomato paste 3 tbsp.
- Salt pinch
- Pepper, black ground pinch
- Basil, fresh 30 g
- Cream cheese, plain 200 g
- Baguette 2 pcs.
Instructions
- 1. Wash the tomatoes thoroughly under running water.
- 2. Cut the tomatoes in half.
- 3. Remove the seeds and excess liquid from the flesh.
- 4. Dice the tomato flesh into small pieces.
- 5. Heat oil in a frying pan over high heat.
- 6. Fry the ground meat for about 5 minutes until it is crumbly.
- 7. Add the diced tomatoes and tomato paste to the pan.
- 8. Season the mixture with salt and pepper to taste.
- 9. Let the filling simmer for another 5 minutes.
- 10. Remove the pan from the heat and let the filling cool down completely.
- 11. Wash the basil leaves under cold water.
- 12. Gently dry the leaves with a kitchen towel.
- 13. Pluck the leaves off the stems.
- 14. Finely chop the basil leaves.
- 15. Place the cooled meat mixture into a bowl.
- 16. Add the cream cheese and the chopped basil.
- 17. Mix all ingredients thoroughly together.
- 18. Taste the filling one last time and adjust seasoning if needed.
- 19. Preheat the oven to a moderate temperature (e.g., 180 degrees Celsius top/bottom heat).
- 20. Place the baguette on a baking sheet and toast it briefly in the oven.
- 21. Remove the baguette from the oven and let it cool for a moment.
- 22. Slice the baguette lengthwise, but not all the way through.
- 23. Carefully remove some of the soft bread from the inside to make room for the filling.
- 24. Spread the meat cream cheese mixture evenly onto both halves of the bread.
- 25. Press the two halves back together firmly.
- 26. Wrap the finished sandwich tightly in aluminum foil.
- 27. Let the sandwich rest for a few minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
