  1. 1. Take the soft cheese out of the fridge for a while so it reaches room temperature.
  2. 2. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius with top and bottom heat.
  3. 3. Cut four pieces of baking paper, each about 40 by 40 centimeters.
  4. 4. Lightly grease the baking paper pieces with butter.
  5. 5. Wrap the cheese in the prepared baking paper.
  6. 6. Place the packet in a baking dish.
  7. 7. Bake the cheese in the oven for about 10 minutes.
  8. 8. Wash the thyme sprigs under running water.
  9. 9. Shake them dry.
  10. 10. Strip the thyme leaves from the stems.
  11. 11. Finely chop the thyme leaves.
  12. 12. Take the baking dish with the cheese out of the oven.
  13. 13. Carefully open the baking paper packet.
  14. 14. Cut the cheese slice into a diamond pattern.
  15. 15. Drizzle honey over the scored cheese.
  16. 16. Season the cheese with salt and pepper.
  17. 17. Sprinkle the chopped thyme leaves evenly over the top.
  18. 18. Place the packet back in the oven, open.
  19. 19. Bake the cheese for another 10 minutes until it is golden brown.
  20. 20. Take the finished baked camembert out of the oven.
  21. 21. Serve the cheese immediately with cornichons and baguette.
