Ingredients
- ginger, fresh 15 g
- garlic cloves 1 pc.
- spring onions 5 pc.
- lemons 1 pc.
- ground beef 600 g
- cinnamon pinch
- soy sauce 6 tbsp
- salt pinch
- basmati rice 300 g
Instructions
- 1. Peel the ginger and the garlic clove.
- 2. Finely dice the ginger and the garlic.
- 3. Set aside half a teaspoon of the fine ginger.
- 4. Wash two spring onions and chop them finely.
- 5. Rinse the lemon under hot water.
- 6. Grate about one teaspoon of the lemon zest.
- 7. Cut the lemon in half.
- 8. Squeeze the juice out of the lemon.
- 9. Place the minced meat in a bowl.
- 10. Add the garlic, spring onions, remaining ginger, lemon zest, and one tablespoon of lemon juice.
- 11. Mix all ingredients thoroughly.
- 12. Season the mixture with cinnamon, three tablespoons of soy sauce, and salt.
- 13. Place the wooden skewers in a container of cold water.
- 14. Shape the meat mixture into elongated balls with a diameter of about three centimeters.
- 15. Thread the meatballs onto the soaked skewers.
- 16. Grill the skewers on a hot grill for about 15 minutes.
- 17. Alternatively, fry the skewers in a pan over medium heat for about 10 minutes, turning them around.
- 18. Place the rice in a pot and cover it with about 700 milliliters of salted water.
- 19. Bring the water to a boil.
- 20. Reduce the heat to low to medium.
- 21. Cook the rice covered for about 10 minutes.
- 22. Clean the remaining spring onions.
- 23. Slice the spring onions into fine rings.
- 24. Mix the spring onion rings with the reserved ginger and the remaining soy sauce.
- 25. Serve the meatballs together with the rice.
- 26. Serve the sauce mixture as a side dish.
