  2. 2. Squeeze the juice from half a lemon into a small bowl.
  3. 3. Peel the apples and cut them in half lengthwise.
  4. 4. Remove the core from the apple halves.
  5. 5. Make several small cuts into the rounded side of the apples with a knife.
  6. 6. Brush the apples with the lemon juice to prevent them from browning.
  7. 7. Set the prepared apples aside.
  8. 8. Beat eggs, rum, milk, a pinch of salt, sugar, and 125 grams of soft butter in a large bowl until creamy using a hand mixer.
  9. 9. Add 200 grams of flour and baking powder to the mixture.
  10. 10. Mix everything together with the mixer until you have a smooth batter.
  11. 11. Grease a 26-centimeter springform pan.
  12. 12. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  13. 13. Place the apple halves on the batter with the cut side facing up.
  14. 14. Bake the cake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes as a pre-bake.
  15. 15. Grate the marzipan coarsely using a grater while the cake pre-bakes.
  16. 16. Mix the grated marzipan, 150 grams of flour, and 50 grams of soft butter in a separate bowl.
  17. 17. Work the mixture with your fingers until small crumbs form.
  18. 18. Take the cake out of the oven.
  19. 19. Distribute the marzipan crumbles evenly over the surface of the cake.
  20. 20. Put the cake back into the oven.
  21. 21. Finish baking the cake for another 40 to 45 minutes.
  22. 22. Cover the crumbles with aluminum foil in the last 10 to 15 minutes if they are getting too dark.
