🍽️ Homemade Apple Chili Ketchup

Ingredients
- onions, yellow 100 g
- garlic cloves 2 pcs.
- apples, red 2 pcs.
- olive oil 3 tbsp
- sea salt pinch
- chili mix 2 pcs.
- tomato paste 3 tbsp
- tomatoes, strained 400 ml
- white wine vinegar 1 tbsp
Instructions
- 1. Peel the onion and the garlic.
- 2. Finely chop the onion and the garlic.
- 3. Peel the apples.
- 4. Cut the apples into quarters.
- 5. Remove the core from the apple quarters.
- 6. Cut the apples into small pieces.
- 7. Heat the olive oil in a pot.
- 8. Add the onion, garlic, and apple pieces to the pot.
- 9. Sauté the ingredients over medium heat for about 5 to 10 minutes.
- 10. Season the mixture with salt.
- 11. Wash the chili peppers.
- 12. Halve the chili peppers lengthwise.
- 13. Decide whether you want to keep the seeds for more heat.
- 14. Add the chili peppers (with or without seeds) to the pot.
- 15. Add the tomato paste.
- 16. Pour the puréed tomatoes into the pot.
- 17. Add the vinegar to the mixture.
- 18. Simmer the ketchup in the covered pot for about 20 minutes.
- 19. Remove the pot from the heat.
- 20. Let the mixture cool down for about 20 minutes.
- 21. Blend the cooled mixture until smooth using a hand blender.
- 22. Pour the ketchup into bottles or jars.
- 23. Store the ketchup in a cool place.
