🍰 Vegan Apple-Cinnamon Waffles

Ingredients
- 250 g wheat flour (Type 405 or 480)
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 packet vanilla sugar
- 2 tbsp sugar or raw cane sugar
- 300 ml plant-based drink (e.g. oat or almond milk)
- 60 ml neutral plant-based oil (e.g. sunflower oil)
- 1 apple
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 tbsp oil for the waffle iron
- 1 tbsp powdered sugar (optional for serving)
- 2 tbsp applesauce (optional for serving)
- 2 tbsp maple syrup (optional for serving)
- 50 ml vegan vanilla sauce (optional for serving)
Instructions
- 1. In a large bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, vanilla sugar, sugar, and salt well together.
- 2. Then add the plant-based drink and the oil, and stir everything into a smooth, thick batter.
- 3. Peel the apple, remove the core, and grate it coarsely. Gently fold the grated apple into the batter.
- 4. Preheat the waffle iron, lightly grease it with some oil, and bake the waffles until golden brown.
- 5. Serve the waffles warm – either plain or with powdered sugar, applesauce, maple syrup, or a vegan vanilla sauce.
