Ingredients
- 500 g flour
- 1 cube fresh yeast (42 g)
- 250 ml lukewarm milk
- 80 g sugar
- 1 egg
- 80 g butter
- 200 g ground poppy seeds
- 100 ml milk
- 2 tbsp honey
Instructions
- 1. Dissolve the yeast in lukewarm milk and mix with a bit of sugar. In a bowl, combine flour, remaining sugar, an egg, and softened butter, then add the yeast milk and knead everything into a smooth dough. Cover and let it rise in a warm place for about 45 minutes.
- 2. Briefly bring the ground poppy seeds with milk and honey to a boil in a small pot until a spreadable consistency is achieved. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- 3. Roll out the yeast dough into a rectangle, evenly spread the poppy filling on top, and roll it up from the long side. Cut into about 12 pieces, place on a baking sheet, and let them rise for another 15 minutes. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C (356 °F) for about 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown.
