🍽️ Hot Mushroom Poppers from the Air Fryer

Ingredients
- 4 Portobello Mushrooms
- 100 g Flour
- 2 Eggs
- 150 g Panko Breadcrumbs
- 1 TL Garlic Powder
- 1 TL Salt
- 1 TL Pepper
Instructions
- 1. Remove the stems from the 4 Portobello mushrooms and pat them dry.
- 2. Cut the mushroom caps into thick slices, about 1 cm thick.
- 3. Use a kitchen towel to blot away any extra moisture.
- 4. Mix the 100 g flour with 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp salt, and 1 tsp pepper.
- 5. Whisk the 2 eggs in a separate bowl with a fork.
- 6. Dip the mushroom slices one by one into the flour mixture.
- 7. Dip the floured mushrooms into the egg mixture.
- 8. Roll the mushrooms completely in the 150 g Panko breadcrumbs.
- 9. Place the breaded mushrooms in the basket of the air fryer.
- 10. Preheat the air fryer to 180 °C.
- 11. Cook the mushroom poppers at 180 °C for 12 minutes, until golden brown.
- 12. Flip the mushrooms halfway through (about 6 minutes).
- 13. Check the mushrooms: the flesh should be tender, not rubbery.
- 14. If needed, cook the mushrooms for another 3 minutes.
- 15. Let the poppers rest in the basket for 2 minutes.
- 16. Serve the golden brown poppers hot with a yogurt dip.
