  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
  2. 2. Thoroughly wash the zucchini and the eggplant.
  3. 3. Cut off the stem end of the zucchini and the eggplant.
  4. 4. Slice the vegetables very thinly (approx. 3 mm thick) using a vegetable peeler or a sharp knife.
  5. 5. Finely chop the garlic.
  6. 6. Roughly chop the basil into strips.
  7. 7. Mix the olive oil with the garlic, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
  8. 8. Place the vegetable slices alternatingly next to each other in a rectangular baking dish.
  9. 9. Add some basil between the vegetable layers.
  10. 10. Pour the oil-garlic mixture evenly over the entire Tian.
  11. 11. Slice the goat cheese and place the slices evenly on top of the vegetables.
  12. 12. Place the baking dish in the oven for 40 minutes.
  13. 13. Remove the Tian from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
