  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 150 degrees Celsius (top/bottom heat).
  2. 2. Heat the cream in a small saucepan until just before boiling. Remove from heat and stir in the fondant until completely dissolved.
  3. 3. Whisk the egg yolks, vanilla extract, and sugar in a bowl until smooth.
  4. 4. Pour the warm chocolate-cream mixture into the egg mixture while whisking constantly.
  5. 5. Fill half of the hazelnuts into 4 small ramekins (approx. 150 ml).
  6. 6. Pour the flan mixture over the hazelnuts. Distribute the remaining hazelnuts on top.
  7. 7. Place the ramekins in a baking dish and fill it with hot water up to half the height of the ramekins (water bath).
  8. 8. Bake the flan for 45-50 minutes until it jiggles slightly but is set.
  9. 9. Let the flans cool in the water bath, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
