50 ml orange blossom water (Greek grocery store or pharmacy)
powdered sugar
Instructions
1. Mix the butter in a bowl with regular sugar and vanilla sugar until the mixture is fluffy and airy. Then stir in the ouzo, eggs, and a pinch of salt.
2. Add the flour and ground almonds to the butter mixture and knead everything into a smooth dough. Shape the dough into two long rolls, wrap each roll individually in plastic wrap, and let the dough rest in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
3. Divide the dough into 40 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a round, slightly domed form with a height of about 1.5 centimeters.
4. Place the cookies on two baking sheets lined with parchment paper, leaving a gap of about 2 centimeters between them. Stick a clove into the center of each cookie.
5. Bake the cookies in the preheated oven at 180 degrees for about 15 to 20 minutes. Remove them, place them on a wire rack, and brush them while warm with orange blossom water. Dust them with powdered sugar and let them cool completely.
