  2. 2. Dip each slice of bread briefly into the egg mixture until it has absorbed the liquid.
  3. 3. Heat a frying pan over medium heat and add half of the butter.
  4. 4. Place the soaked bread slices in the pan and fry them until golden brown.
  5. 5. Flip the slices and finish frying the other side.
  6. 6. Fry the remaining slices in the remaining butter.
  7. 7. Serve the Pain Perdu hot with a splash of maple syrup.
