🍞 Golden Pain Perdu with Cinnamon-Orange

Ingredients
- 300 g Stale baguette (sliced)
- 4 Stk Eggs (Size M)
- 200 ml Whole milk
- 1 Stk Cinnamon stick
- 1 Stk Orange (zested)
- 20 g Butter (for greasing)
- 20 g Powdered sugar
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
- 2. Slice the baguette into approx. 2 cm thick slices.
- 3. Whisk the eggs, milk, orange zest, and cinnamon stick in a shallow baking dish.
- 4. Dip each bread slice briefly into the egg mixture until soaked.
- 5. Place the soaked bread slices tightly together in a greased baking dish.
- 6. Distribute the remaining egg mixture evenly over the bread.
- 7. Bake the pain perdu for 25 to 30 minutes in the oven until golden brown and firm.
- 8. Remove the cinnamon stick.
- 9. Spread the surface with the cold butter.
- 10. Dust the dish with powdered sugar and serve warm.
