Ingredients

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Calculate the time until the oven is hot.
  2. 2. Heat a large pan over medium heat. Brown the ground beef in it until it is brown.
  3. 3. Add the diced onion and pepper to the pan. Cook the vegetables for 5 minutes until they are soft.
  4. 4. Stir in the tomato paste, paprika powder, salt, and pepper into the meat mixture. Remove the pan from the heat and let the filling cool for 5 minutes.
  5. 5. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place one puff pastry sheet on it. Spread the cooled meat mixture evenly over half of the dough.
  6. 6. Fold the empty part of the dough over the filling. Press the edges firmly with your fingers to seal them.
  7. 7. Crimp the edges with a fork to create a decorative pattern. Cut small holes in the center of the dough to allow steam to escape.
  8. 8. Brush the surface of the empanada with the beaten egg. Bake it for 25 minutes in the oven until the pastry is golden brown and crispy.
  9. 9. Remove the empanada from the oven. Let it rest for 5 minutes before cutting it into pieces and serving.
