Ingredients
- 2 Stück Puff pastry sheets (thawed)
- 400 g Ground beef
- 1 große Red bell pepper (finely diced)
- 1 große Onion (finely diced)
- 2 EL Tomato paste
- 1 TL Paprika powder (sweet)
- 1 Prise Salt
- 1 Prise Black pepper
- 1 Egg (beaten, for brushing)
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Calculate the time until the oven is hot.
- 2. Heat a large pan over medium heat. Brown the ground beef in it until it is brown.
- 3. Add the diced onion and pepper to the pan. Cook the vegetables for 5 minutes until they are soft.
- 4. Stir in the tomato paste, paprika powder, salt, and pepper into the meat mixture. Remove the pan from the heat and let the filling cool for 5 minutes.
- 5. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place one puff pastry sheet on it. Spread the cooled meat mixture evenly over half of the dough.
- 6. Fold the empty part of the dough over the filling. Press the edges firmly with your fingers to seal them.
- 7. Crimp the edges with a fork to create a decorative pattern. Cut small holes in the center of the dough to allow steam to escape.
- 8. Brush the surface of the empanada with the beaten egg. Bake it for 25 minutes in the oven until the pastry is golden brown and crispy.
- 9. Remove the empanada from the oven. Let it rest for 5 minutes before cutting it into pieces and serving.
