1. Wash the chili peppers thoroughly. Cut them lengthwise, remove the inside with the seeds and the white membrane. Cut the chili into very fine strips. Drain the capers. Peel the garlic clove and press it through a garlic press.
2. Brush 4 plates with a total of 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Cut the pears in half, peel them, and remove the core. Slice the pear halves into paper-thin slices and arrange them on the prepared plates.
3. Mix the chili, capers, and garlic with the remaining oil and lemon juice. Season the mixture lightly with salt. Distribute this sauce evenly over the pear slices. Pick the basil leaves off the stems.
4. Grate the Parmesan finely over the pears or crumble it into small pieces. Garnish the pear salad with the fresh basil leaves and serve immediately.
5. This salad tastes excellent as a side dish to a large cheese platter!
