  2. 2. Sauté the onions in butter over medium heat for about 20 minutes until soft and caramelized. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 more minute.
  3. 3. Deglaze the flour with the cream, stir in thyme, salt, and pepper. Remove the pan from the heat.
  4. 4. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Roll out the puff pastry and place it on the sheet. Prick the edges with a fork.
  5. 5. Pour the onion mixture evenly over the pastry. Sprinkle the grated cheese on top.
  6. 6. Bake the tart for 25 minutes in the oven until the pastry is golden brown and risen.
