🍲 French Onion Soup

Ingredients
- 4 onions
- 30g butter
- 1 EL olive oil
- 500ml vegetable broth
- 100ml white wine
- 2 Scheiben baguette
- 100g Gruyère cheese
- 1 TL thyme
- 1 TL sugar
- 1 TL salt
- 0.5 TL pepper
Instructions
- 1. Slice the onions thinly.
- 2. Heat butter and olive oil in a pot, add onions, and sauté until golden brown over medium heat.
- 3. Add sugar and thyme, cook for another 5 minutes while stirring until caramelized.
- 4. Deglaze with white wine and let simmer for 10 minutes.
- 5. Add vegetable broth and simmer the soup for 20 minutes.
- 6. Fill oven-safe bowls with the soup, place baguette slices on top, sprinkle with grated cheese, and bake under the broiler until golden brown.
