🍽️ Onion Soup with White Wine

Ingredients
- 1 kg onions
- 50 g butter
- 1 l vegetable broth
- 250 ml dry white wine
- Nutmeg
- Thyme (1 tsp fresh or 1/2 tsp dried)
- 1 pinch ground cumin
- 50 g raclette cheese (grated)
- 1 bunch parsley
- 4 slices baguette
- 2 garlic cloves
- Salt
- Pepper (from the mill)
Instructions
- 1. Peel the onions and cut them into thin rings. Heat the butter in a pot and sauté the onions until translucent. Add the broth and wine, sprinkle in the nutmeg, thyme, and cumin, and let the soup simmer for 25-30 minutes.
- 2. Toast the bread slices and rub them with the peeled garlic clove. Crush the
- 3. garlic clove and stir it into the soup. Season with salt and
- 4. pepper and fill into ovenproof soup bowls.
- 5. Place the bread slices on the soup, sprinkle with cheese, and place the bowls under the grill for about 5 minutes until the cheese is melted. Serve and enjoy the onion soup with white wine.
