🍽️ Onion Steak

Ingredients
- 2 slices entrecôte (at 200 g)
- 4 slices toast bread
- 2 onions
- 2 slices pineapple with some juice (can)
- 6 tbsp oil
- 100 g Gouda (grated)
- 4 tbsp whipping cream
- 1 tsp butter
- salt
- pepper (from the mill)
- cayenne pepper
- 20 ml cognac
Instructions
- 1. Peel the onions.
- 2. Cut the onions in half.
- 3. Cut the onion halves into thin strips.
- 4. Cut the pineapple into bite-sized pieces.
- 5. Heat 3 tablespoons of oil in a pan.
- 6. Fry the onion strips slowly in the hot oil until golden brown.
- 7. Put the cheese, cream, butter, and 2 tablespoons of pineapple juice into a small saucepan.
- 8. Melt the mixture while stirring.
- 9. Season the cheese cream with cayenne pepper.
- 10. Stir the pineapple pieces into the cheese cream.
- 11. Toast the bread slices.
- 12. Cut the toast slices diagonally in half.
- 13. Place the cheese-pineapple mixture on the toast slices.
- 14. Preheat the grill.
- 15. Broil the toast slices under the grill for about 5 minutes until golden brown.
- 16. Season the meat with salt and pepper.
- 17. Fry the meat in the remaining oil on both sides.
- 18. Fry the meat for 3 to 5 minutes per side, depending on your preferred doneness.
- 19. Place the baked cheese corners on the plates.
- 20. Place the fried meat on the cheese corners.
- 21. Deglaze the pan juices in the frying pan with cognac.
- 22. Distribute the fried onions over the meat.
- 23. Drizzle the dish with the pan sauce.
- 24. Serve the onion roast hot.
